Dream trip between Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego

This year we made a dream come true… I had planned this trip 10 years ago and it finally couldn’t take place. So after this long wait, what a pleasure to finally be able to go to Patagonia!

First day in Buenos Aires with Gilda who showed us all the legendary neighborhoods of the capital. Then, we flew to Bariloche for a busy week. Maximo showed us his region and its breathtaking landscapes. He drove us along Route 40, took us through the enchanted valley and introduced us to mate tasting. We were able to sail on Lake Nahuel Huapi, discover the incredible Arrayanes forest and stop on Victoria Island for a walk among the sequoias and eucalyptus trees. We also had the chance to spend a magical moment in Marisa and Pablo’s estancia lost in the middle of the mountains. Bariloche is without a doubt an exceptional place where nature is incredible, dominant and majestic!

After a few days, change of scenery with the discovery of the El Calafate region and Lake Argentino. Meeting with Eduardo to discover the Los Glaciares National Park and the Perito Moreno Glacier, then navigation among the glaciers and icebergs on Lake Argentino. We felt very small in front of the immensity and beauty of these glaciers! Then direction EL Chalten for a trek to the Fitz Roy and the Laguna de Los Très. And what can I say except that the Fitz Roy is worth it!

We ended our trip in Ushuaia. We hear so much about it in France that we couldn’t have gone there without stopping there. Sailing on the Beagle Channel where we were able to observe sea lions, cormorants and where we had the incredible chance to come across orcas! Visit of the Harberton estancia and walk on Martillo Island among the penguins. Finally, discovery of the Tierra del Fuego National Park with our guide Gabriel: on the program, a walk and outing in duckies.

And of course, to satisfy Monsieur, a few days of fishing interspersed in the middle of the program, including one with Boris. And there, judging by my fiance’s delighted face and the quantity of fish he was able to catch, it would seem that this is a paradise for a fisherman!

I almost forgot: to end the stay… a marriage proposal at the end of the world!

In summary: an incredible stay, very organized by Boris and his fairy godmother Mariana. Guides all nicer and more interesting than the others. Very pleasant hotels, top restaurant recommendations. Everything was absolutely perfect!

Boris, I hope you are ready to organize our honeymoon 😊

Travel to Patagonia, Antarctica cruise and Cape Horn

Wedding anniversary: Latin America (Argentina; Antarctica; Chile). We decided to mark our 25th wedding anniversary with two cruises, one to Antarctica and the second to the Patagonian Channels.

We took the opportunity to travel through Argentine and Chilean Patagonia. This 6-week trip (from 01/26/24 to 03/08/24), from Buenos Aires to Santiago de Chile, will remain etched in our memories as it was so intense.

We provided Boris with the project for this trip which managed to surprise us at every stage, both by the impeccable organization with appointments always honored on time, and flawless reservations, and by the relevance of the excursions offered:

  • Tango Night in Buenos Aires
  • The sea lions and elephant seals at Punta Cantor, and the thousands of Magellanic penguins from Punta Tombo to Puerto Madryn
  • Horseback riding in a hacienda, and Boris’ surprise day in Bariloche
  • The Perito Moreno and Spegazzini glaciers in El Calafate
  • Helicopter flight over the surroundings of Ushuaia
  • Antarctica, from where one does not return quite the same
  • Cape Horn and the glaciers, each more majestic than the last, of the Patagonian channels
  • The towers and horns of Torres del Paine Park
  • The authenticity of Chiloé Island
  • Frutillas in Puerto Varas
  • Colorful houses in this street art city of Valparaiso

We’ll keep from these six weeks an unforgettable memory of the landscapes as well as the people, the guides, and of course Mariana and Boris. We only have one desire: to go back there with Borispatagonia.

Travel Argentina Chile – Cruise to the end of the world – Cape Horn

We dreamed of discovering Patagonia, of sailing where Magellan got lost, of walking in endless spaces and landscapes where you can no longer distinguish the sky from the water of the glaciers, of being cold, then hot, of riding a horse for the first time, of sharing a moment of life with a family of “gauchos”, of contemplating extraordinary mountain horizons, of approaching the glaciers, of reaching Cape Horn, of feeling small in front of majestic waterfalls and of meeting the Argentine soul as it has been built over the course of its history, and all this in 18 days.

We did it beyond our dreams thanks to Boris, Mariana his close collaborator and their network of professionals (drivers, local agencies and French-speaking guides, all punctual and dedicated) who took care of us to give us all our time for pleasure, relieving us of all the stress of logistics, language, uncertainty and boredom.

Mariana’s constant availability to guide us at each transfer was invaluable to us, everything was thought out and regulated like a Swiss watch. Boris and his site were recommended to us by a friend. He was right. Boris loves Patagonia, which he married, and he shared this love with us by concocting a varied, complete program full of beautiful surprises, beautiful encounters, and totally meeting our desires.

An exceptional journey where we felt free and independent, while being totally guided, accompanied, without stress.

Our journey started in Buenos Aires, then we headed to Bariloche (guided tours, trekking, day on the farm, horse riding, etc.) where Boris spent a surprise day with us, then El Calafate (the Perito Moreno Glacier on a day cruise), Torres del Paine Park (Chile), and the magnificent cruise from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia aboard the “Ventus Australis”, then Ushuaia and its park, before finishing with Iguazu.

At each stage, varied sporting and cultural activities and moments of contemplation.

This is our first travel with Boris, and we already want to go again. Thank you Boris and the whole team, and congratulations again! A friendly thought for all our guides, especially Gustavo, the two Martins, Maximo, Juan, Dolores… Thank you Mariana, a big thank you for your discreet presence and your daily efficiency!

Antarctica journey and stay in Patagonia

It was chance that gave us the chance to meet Boris, his endearing personality and his “field” skills!

These 10 days in Patagonia were marked by a choice of varied landscapes, avoiding crowds as much as possible, thanks to flawless organization (times always respected, reservations without problems, a responsive and always efficient hotline with Mariana).

The last two days of this program will leave us with images in our heads for a long time, confirming that we have experienced a unique moment.

Our humor will say that Boris was very “clever”, because life, we sincerely hope, will inevitably put us back in contact with him for another Antarctic travel…

A very big thank you, Boris, from both of us and Bravo!

  Chile and Argentina Tour

Very nice trip, from the Atacama Desert to Cape Horn in Chile, then back up through Argentina to Buenos Aires, making short stops. This allowed us to see very different landscapes with the glaciers of Patagonia and the Atacama Desert… exceptional. The Valdes Peninsula was also a must.

We were able to have French-speaking guides at each stage, all of them very competent and very pleasant. This also allowed us to talk about life in these two countries, particularly in Argentina which is experiencing a difficult economic situation.

The only downsides were the accommodation, which was generally far from the city centre, and some long bus journeys that we would have liked to avoid when there was a flight option. We would also have liked to know the timetables in advance to better organise our free time.

Thanks to Boris and Mariana, his assistant who answered all our questions throughout this trip.

  Travel to Patagonia

Here we are back, still dazzled by our magnificent and intense journey. We took the wind in our face and Patagonia right to our hearts. Everything is out of the ordinary: the immensity of the grandiose and sublime landscapes as far as the eye can see, the oversized space where we lose all notion of distance and proportion, the unreal beauty of the colors, all these unimaginable shades of blue between the sky, the glaciers, the icebergs, the lakes and the lagoons and also the reflection of the mountains in the lakes and all the animals that we loved observing from the Valdes Peninsula to the Torres Del Paine Park. Without forgetting the kindness and the smiles of the Argentines.

A thousand thanks for organizing an à la carte program for us, where everything went very well: punctuality of transfers, comfortable hotels, good restaurant addresses, selection of activities and super good choice of guides who knew how to share their enthusiasm and passion: Pierre, Mario, Maximo, Martin, Marisa, Frederico, Pedro… (sorry if we forgot some) and special mention to Lucile, passionate and exciting who accompanied us for 4 days in the Parque Torres Del Paine. Thank you also for the nice day in your company in Bariloche.

Many thanks also to Mariana for her efficiency and responsiveness throughout the trip.

We wish you a very happy holiday season, very cordially,

Travel to Chile from North to South

After Argentina, Peru and Bolivia, 3rd trip with Boris. This time to discover Chile.

1st stage, Valparaiso with its multicolored Street Art, then, head north to the Atacama Desert with its very varied landscapes and colors, from the Lagoons to the Valleys, from the Salar to the Geysers of El Tatio.

Then, head to the Island of Chiloé with its houses on stilts and timeless villages, and discover the Island of Mechuque, where very few tourists go.

Head south to Torres Del Paine National Park, with its snow-capped peaks and amazingly colored lakes.

End of the trip to discover Santiago before our return to France.

Perfect organization with top guides and drivers. Mariana perfectly ensures the follow-up of the trip and Boris takes over if necessary.

We were able to meet Boris, who came to see us in Puerto Varas.

We recommend without hesitation.

Travel to Patagonia and Iguazu Falls

Sixty years of marriage before going to discover the end of the world. See where the last land route before the South Pole ends, but our road continues.

It was to Boris, discovered by chance on the internet, that we entrusted the organization of this trip, which in itself is a first because until now we organized our trips ourselves.

Thanks to him, he was able to put together a trip for us through Patagonia, adapted to our wishes, but also to our age. A flawless organization, discoveries of sublime landscapes but also very rich human contacts.

In addition to the wonderful day spent with Boris, the professional skills and human qualities of the various speakers are all wonderful memories. To Mariana for her constant presence via WhatsApp, to Maximo, the French-speaking guide with whom we spent three days, to Marissa who showed us her estancia and the horseback ride, to Maria for this excellent surprise meal and the very special intention she had for Madame who was celebrating her birthday that day.

A return with lots of photos, but above all lots of memories in the head, it will be necessary to classify the two.

Travel to Northern Chile and Argentina

A travel planned for 2019, postponed in particular due to the Covid 19 pandemic, and therefore long-awaited.

For four weeks, we let ourselves be carried along by a well-designed program, at the crossroads of our expectations and Boris’ recommendations: discoveries of the Atacama Desert in Chile, the Salta region, the Iguazu Falls and Patagonia in Argentina.

Nature lovers, passionate about the great outdoors, curious about South American culture, we were surprised and delighted by the beauty and diversity of the landscapes, both in Chile and Argentina.

We were also touched by the professionalism and kindness of the guides and drivers (Rémi, Paula, Maritza, Karina, Edouardo, to name a few), and by the welcome of the people we met. A totally exotic and fabulous trip! A trip full of emotions!

In summary, a successful first adventure in South America which makes us want to explore other regions, even countries, with BorisPatagonia.

Many thanks to Boris and Mariana for organizing the trip and their efficient and responsive support throughout the stay.

  Four-week trip to Patagonia

After a first trip to the north of Argentina organized by us, we dreamed of discovering Patagonia. We entrusted the realization of this dream to Boris and we did well.

He was able to design the trip as we wanted: exploration of the Valdes Peninsula, Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, El Calafate and the Glacier Park, El Chalten, Bariloche and a brief stopover in Buenos Aires, which we already knew.

He was able to bring a real plus to what we had imagined, with stops off the beaten track, which allowed us to live extraordinary experiences, alongside attentive Argentinians, happy to make us discover their region and their way of life.

It was a very dense, rich and varied journey:

  • breathtaking landscapes: XXL glaciers, enchanting Andean peaks, pampas as far as the eye can see, jagged coastal landscapes, often deserted, with the impression of being alone in the world.
  • a very rich fauna that made us photographers happy: whales, sea lions and elephant seals, penguins (especially Magellanic penguins but also Gentoo penguins and king penguins), guanacos, gray and red foxes, maras, emus, hares, multiple birds and even armadillos and skunks.
  • exciting excursions by boat, zodiac, canoe, bus, jeep, horse, or independently in a rental car.
  • day hikes, discovering glaciers and mountain landscapes that are a little more secret, more difficult to reach, but our efforts were always rewarded by a grandiose spectacle.
  • varied gastronomy always delicious, accompanied by Malbec or a local beer, and followed by a dessert often (if not always) garnished with dulche de leche.
  • changing weather: wind (always), sun (often), rain (rarely), snow (sometimes), all possible in the same day.

The trip was perfectly organized, Boris and Mariana were able to deal efficiently with the few unforeseen events, thank you to them. It was a wonderful trip, and we are ready to repeat the experience with Boris and his team.

Travel to Patagonia with Cape Horn Cruise

Boris created a very nice 3-week itinerary for us, dense but adapted to our wishes (independence, photography, guides, nature and animals), and to our physical abilities.

So we explored Buenos Aires (briefly), Bariloche and its lakes, El Calafate and its glaciers, Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, Puerto Madryn and the Peninsula Valdes, made a trip to Chile (Torres del Paine), and finally a fantastic cruise on the Beagle Channel, its fjords, and its legendary Cape Horn.

It was a complete change of scenery:

  • Exceptional glaciers, Pampas as far as the eye can see, isolated Estancia, glacial valleys, primary or petrified forests, very rugged Cape Horn.
  • Many exciting walks, by bus, canoe, zodiac, catamaran or human-sized ship, and also on horseback and by helicopter.
  • Encounters with guanacos, emus, Magellanic geese, imperial cormorants, condors, penguins, gray foxes, right whales, dolphins, elephant seals, etc.
  • Wind (often), snow (rare), rain (little), sun (a lot).
  • Asado tastings on the terrace or by the stream, lamb or cow, with chimichouri, empanadas, introductions to Mate, Pisco Sour or Calafate, and various traditional dishes, accompanied by local Malbec or a Patagonia cerveza.

We immersed ourselves as much as possible in the life of the Argentinians, perfectly accompanied by competent and friendly guides, delighted to show us the little details of their region or city and very into nature and animal life: a special hello to Marie-Laure, Maximo, Marisa and Emilio for their kindness, their advice and their constant attention. So impeccable and careful organization.

What peace of mind to be met at the airport, driven to the hotel, transported to the location, and to have a rapid response as soon as a grain of sand creeps in (sorry Mariana if we contacted you at odd hours, and thank you again).

  Patagonian adventure and Brazilian touch

It’s a long-planned journey that we finally made a reality in November 2023.

The objective: to discover the Patagonian landscapes and fauna, told by inhabitants of the different regions crossed.

Boris perfectly built our stay and created an ideal itinerary to fully appreciate each place. From Buenos Aires to Ushuaia via the Valdes Peninsula, Bariloche, the glacier park and its famous Perito Moreno, each discovery was a delight and the activities and excursions offered were perfectly suited to our desires. Treks, boat trips, helicopter flights, everything contributed to our happiness 😀

The assistance and kindness of all the guides we met during our stay allowed us to discover the “real” life of the Argentines and their very rich history.

We ended our trip on a high note with the Iguazu Falls and the Brazilian jungle, so different from the landscapes we crossed in Patagonia.

None of this would have been possible without Boris, whom we had the chance to meet, as well as his charming wife 😀 (Many thanks to her for her musical meditation experience) Many thanks also to Mariana for her great availability and kindness, whatever the time and day.

We left Argentina with regret and the promise to return!

Wine route circuit in Argentina / Chile

A month after returning from our trip to South America, we still think about this wonderful experience every day!

The wine route of Chile and Argentina allowed us to visit magnificent wine estates and discover Santiago, Valparaiso and Mendoza.

We then continued our journey in Patagonia: Bariloche, El Calafate and Puerto Natales. Here we discovered the steppe, the mountains, the lakes and the glaciers. We were able to experience the life of the gauchos and the fishermen. The kindness and generosity of the people, the beauty of nature, the tranquility touched us.

Wine, gastronomy, art and accommodation (a special mention for the “Simple Patagonia” hotel in Puerto Natales)… it’s a true art of living!

Our vacation ended dancing tango in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires.

Bravo Boris!! This trip was magnificent, unforgettable and of a very high standard. Thanks to the excellent guides and to Mariana for the follow-up throughout the trip.

  Honeymoon in Patagonia

We scoured the internet for a long time before deciding to go through Boris to organize our honeymoon. And we have never regretted our choice.

We wanted a different trip, based on endless sumptuous landscapes, equestrian treks, authentic and warm encounters, far from the beaten track. We were won over!

After two “classic” days in Buenos Aires, we flew to Bariloche. There we met Boris (he really exists) for a hike. We mostly spent 5 days on horseback, in the mountains accompanied by real gauchos. Nights in refuges or under the stars, with meat, bread and wine on the menu at every meal! A dive full of authenticity and simplicity into their daily lives.

We then went to Calafate to discover the glaciers with day excursions, boat trips, walks on the magnificent Perito Moreno. We also spent 3 days in El Chalten to meet and admire the mythical Fitz Roy (which is worth it).

The estancia in this region was finally waiting for us, for the highlight of the show. With 3 days in this farm at the end of the world, where wide open spaces, nature, simplicity and human warmth blend together. Camping in the heart of nature to live the adventure to the fullest.

The honeymoon, the trip of a lifetime. We left a part of us in Patagonia and Patagonia left a lasting mark on us. We’ll return! The story has only just begun!

A big thank you to Boris (who is also an honorary consul) and Mariana for her availability 7/7 and 24/24! You are in good hands!

This trip was great and fills us with joy every time we think about it. A sign of a successful trip. A big thank you to you!

  Family stay in Patagonia

I had this trip in mind for so long!

After consulting several travel agencies on the web to help me organize the trip, I quickly understood after the first WhatsApp phone exchange that it was with Boris, experienced and attentive to my expectations, that I was going to be able to make this dream a reality. I shared with him the regions I wanted to visit, the desired activities, the children’s desires, the budget constraints, and 2 weeks later after a few more phone exchanges I had a detailed proposal that was unanimously approved by the family, adapted to fit in the budget!

There were still 5 months to wait before departure…

These two weeks of travel have been absolutely incredible! After the first day of discovering Buenos Aires, we quickly reached the regions whose photos made me dream:

  • The Valdes Peninsula and its penguins, lions and elephant seals on the breathtaking beaches. The guanacos and sheep on the edge of the first tracks to reach deserted areas, alone in the world!
  • Then, departure for the region of EL Calafate: hiking in wide open spaces, unforgettable horseback riding in a grandiose landscape hosted in the Esteban’s Estancia, discovery of the glaciers, including the magnificent Perito Moreno, with detailed explanations from the guides on the fauna and flora, and the formation of the glaciers. Boat trips among the icebergs or at the foot of the glaciers remain a magical memory for adults and children. A great hike within everyone’s reach also allowed us to reach a lagoon with icebergs, an incredible view for an unforgettable picnic!
  • Finally, direction Ushuaia, where the capricious weather for the boat trip in the Beagle Channel finally gave us the opportunity to go on a 4×4 hike with an outstanding driver, respecting nature to allow us to meet a gray fox and beavers! The typical evening on a farm with an excellent meal in a small group allowed us to end this day of discovery of the region at the end of the world. The following day, the canoe trip and the hike were unanimous.

A huge thank you to our successive guides: Gustavo, Pierre, Martin, Juan, Jenny… Thank you for your never intrusive presence and your always relevant information.

Special mention to Mariana of course, available 24/7, attentive, who followed us and helped us remotely in all our adventures!

Without hesitation that I recommend the services of Boris and his entire team for an unforgettable trip, and flawless organization!

Travel to Uruguay and Province of Misiones

And two trips! This is our second stay with Boris, and having tested his perfect organization in 2020, just before the pandemic, we trusted him with our eyes closed for a 2-week stay.

Arrival in Buenos Aires… from where we took the ferry the next day and spent the first week in Uruguay, during a stay along the coast; we enjoyed the magnificent beaches of this small country, the sun, the authentic fishing villages, the guided tours of Colonia del Sacramento and Montevideo: excellent discovery and relaxing stay, excellent and very cultured guides.

Back in Buenos Aires, we flew to Puerto Iguazu, and spent 5 days in the province of Missions (Misiones, Argentina): the Iguazu Falls are of course unforgettable, the Mission of San Ignacio is very beautiful but the discovery proposed by Boris of the Mocona Falls was a real favorite, with a 2-night stay in a lodge in the heart of the jungle where everything is done to make you feel unique!

Perfect organization, punctual transfers, very good hotels, guides, restaurants, activities, everything was perfect: we travel confidently and peacefully with Boris and Mariana who ensure close monitoring of your stay for your great peace of mind! A real vacation…!

What memories! Very pleasant and exotic trip, very different from the first stay, but there’s still a lot to discover! A big thank you to Boris, we’ll come back!

Travel to Patagonia and cruise to Cape Horn

Well, it was a beautiful trip, Patagonia! Everything is big, splendid and wild. First Bariloche, with its large lake Nahuel Huapi, where the vegetation is dry in the north and lush in the south. Varied surrounding landscapes, where we were able to go horseback riding in a canyon that reminded us of the western films of our childhood.

Then we went to El Calafate to see its immense glaciers crashing into the water with a deafening roar. In El Chaltén, it was the long, straight lines of the Fitz Roy that struck us.

Then we reached Torres del Paine Park where the beauty of the lakes, glaciers and peaks delighted our eyes. This wild immensity still preserved remains unique in this world. What a contrast with our French landscapes.

Then a wonderful cruise, where the zodiac outings allowed us to set foot in even wilder territories, and magnificent views in the Beagle Channel on the avenue of glaciers, without forgetting also the unforgettable passage at Cape Horn.

Finally, the ultimate goal of our trip, Ushuaia! How can I describe this region with its soft colors, with contrasts between land, sea, city and mountain, and especially with this wind everywhere. An enchanting region that will provide us with memories for a long time to come.

From an organizational point of view, it was a perfect faultless by our tour operator. The transfers, receptions at the various airports and bus stations were of a punctuality that we appreciated. Likewise, for the various guides and escorts who shared their love of their country with us by showing us the life of the natives. In short, it was the realization of a long-awaited trip and which completely satisfied us.

Kind regards

Travel to Argentine Patagonia with children

We just got back from two wonderful weeks as a family, from Buenos Aires to El Calafate, via the Valdes Peninsula and Bariloche. It was a great travel, where we met wonderful people, saw breathtaking landscapes, encountered all sorts of animals (elephant seals, sea lions, guanacos, condors… and dogs all over the country!), tried out various activities: horseback riding, fishing, rafting, snorkeling, glacier walking… and as a bonus, celebrating the victory of the Football World Cup with the crowd, a great moment!

The program we had opted for with Boris was dense but very well organized, with very close monitoring from Mariana, who was always listening to us for the little problems of everyday life. It was great to be able to just enjoy ourselves, with a mind free from logistical constraints. The guides on site were always very nice and interesting. As for the activities, we had a crush on the day at Marisa’s estancia, which we found really authentic, with a superb horseback ride and our best asado of the stay, by the river. We also found that the mini trekking on the Perito Moreno was really worth it.

The accommodations were very well found (note the great little hotels in Buenos Aires and Puerto Piramides). As for clothing, we had planned a fairly wide range, from flip-flops, swimsuits to ski clothes, and we used it all!

In short, a trip that we are not ready to forget, and which allowed us to live beautiful moments of discovery as a family! A big thank you to Boris, Mariana, and to all the guides who made this trip a success: Gustavo, Alicia, Mario, Maximo, Marisa, Juan, Martin, Fernanda…

  Stay in Patagonia

We wanted to discover Patagonia for our first trip to South America. It was a bit by chance that we found ourselves on Boris’s site and chance did things very well.

It only took a few emails for Boris to put together a tailor-made program for us based on our vague indications. It was 17 intense, surprising, enriching days, and always under control, thanks in particular to Mariana, who was always there and very responsive. (Thanks WhatsApp). Despite a last-minute flight cancellation between Buenos Aires and Bariloche, the program was kept thanks to Boris and his team.

  • Thanks to Gustavo who took care of us when we arrived in Buenos Aires. Thanks to Martin for the hike to Cerro Challhuaco.
  • Thanks to Maximo who introduced us to the Circuito de los Lagos, Maria’s restaurant, where we were welcomed in impeccable French, and the Circuito Chico.
  • Thank you for the fabulous private day at Perito Moreno Glacier and our guide Maria Noel.
  • Thank you for the VIP day on the Nueva Leon for the discovery of extraordinary glaciers.
  • Thank you for allowing us to do THE hike that takes us to the foot of Fitz Roy, despite the very uncertain weather.
  • Thank you for the day alternating between boat and hiking in the middle of nowhere. Thank you for the flight over Ushuaia in a “private” helicopter with drop-off in the mountains.
  • Thank you for the discovery of the Beagle Channel and the penguins of Martillo Island.
  • Thank you for another day of boating and hiking in Tierra del Fuego.
  • Thanks to Rogeglio for his very genuine welcome to Ushuaia.
  • Thanks to all the drivers for the many transfers always carried out on time.

With Boris, it’s really the excess on our scale. Bravo and thank you to the whole team.
