Stay in Patagonia and trekking W in Torres del Paine Park

This trip to Patagonia was a dream of wide open spaces and immensity.

I didn’t know exactly what to find there, but the desire to discover was stronger, and Team Govetto gathered around me, Michèle, Huguette and Gilbert.

Thank you, Boris, for brilliantly organizing this idyllic four-week trip. Every day was a surprise, revealing a new face of Argentine and Chilean Patagonia.

We were amazed, our hearts were filled, and our souls were exalted; from Buenos Aires and its Tango evening, to horseback riding in the estancias, to hiking in the mountains, to sailing on the lakes among the icebergs, to discovering the glaciers, without forgetting Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel and our encounter with the Puma in Torres del Paine… and so many other beautiful encounters!!!

No shadow on this stay and we pay tribute to the whole team for this faultless performance.

It’s going to take us some time to come back down to earth…

  Travel to Patagonia

We were told: “You are going to experience the trip of a lifetime in Argentine Patagonia”… And it was the trip of a lifetime!

The idea of returning to South America is taking hold and a second trip with Boris and his entire team is already being planned in our heads.

A flawless, fluid, perfectly orchestrated organization and a magnificent circuit: Buenos Aires, Tango evening, Bariloche and the road of the seven lakes; El Chaltén and the mythical Fitz Roy; El Calafate and the majestic Perito Moreno; Ushuaia; Martillo Island and many other equally magnificent places etc…

If off-the-beaten-track Patagonia appeals to you, don’t hesitate to try the adventure with BORISPATAGONIA and his team.

A big thank you to Mariana for her kind and responsive support on a daily basis.

Thank you all for these beautiful moments of shared life, engraved in our memories.

Travel Patagonia and Iguazu Falls, from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso

Hello Boris,

We had a wonderful trip with breathtaking scenery. Alain had been dreaming of this trip for years. It was a real change of scenery.

We would like to thank Mariana very much, as well as all the drivers and guides we had. They were all excellent.

We simply want to say that this trip transported us and will remain unforgettable. The greatness of each landscape. The visits that most transported us to another world were the Iguazu Falls, Torres del Paine, and Ushuaia.

The accommodations were all very good. For us, the most challenging thing was the language barrier, as we speak neither English nor Spanish. Everyone is approachable.

It would have been nice to meet you and Mariana during our stay. We only know you from your website.

Maybe I’ll see you next time, you never know!??

Travel to the Argentine Northwest and Bariloche region

This was our 3rd trip with Borispatagonia, the second to Argentina.

This time we chose to explore the northwest Andean region around Salta, then rent an apartment in Bariloche with a rental car. In total 3 weeks of complete change of scenery under the Argentine sun, with perfect organization.

We would like to thank Boris in particular for his availability and the time spent with us in Bariloche, without forgetting Mariana for her availability, and for all the documents and advice she gave us.

The hotels were perfect (especially in Cachi and Tilcara), and the apartment in Bariloche was exceptional with a large balcony overlooking the lake and mountains.

In short, a trip that met 100% of our expectations!

  Patagonia Trip and Antarctica Cruise

We have been on many trips, but this trip to Patagonia/Antarctica is unforgettable.

The beauty of the landscapes increases as the journey progresses, great diversity, colors that dazzle the eyes, great serenity.

The setting, the nature contributes to this well-being but in addition, the organization of this travel is neat: everything follows naturally, a special mention for Mariana who follows 7 days a week, at all hours the progress. We miss the little benevolent message from Mariana every morning! Everything is managed smoothly, there is always a solution in case of problem.

Boris’s great professionalism must be highlighted, he’s very attentive to people; we are not sporty, the program was adapted to our level and his advice very judicious, thanks to his experience acquired in the field: he knows the sites, the service providers intuita persona… This is not a run-of-the-mill agency that sells a trip from a catalog!

It was also very nice to be accompanied by guides in French, with real skills: Maximo, Marisa and Emilio, Jenny, Jérôme, and we forget some… each in their field. The very nature-oriented trip was all the more interesting.

The kindness of the Argentines, of the entire team and the feeling of traveling in complete safety also contributed to making this trip an exceptional one.

The highlight of the trip was the Antarctica cruise, and indeed it was necessary to organize the trip by ending with the cruise, Boris’s advice. Choosing a cruise company on a human scale is also an excellent idea.

In summary, we are delighted with this trip… and we are thinking about a second trip!

See you soon and a big thank you to Boris and all the people who contributed to this wonderful trip.

  3 weeks in Argentine Patagonia

Boris promised us a dream trip, he didn’t lie to us!!

Yes, these 3 weeks in Patagonia were a wonderful trip, a program different from other tour operators, flexible and adapted to our desires.

Yes, we appreciated the charming addresses, beautiful places, smaller, more intimate hotels where other tour operators don’t go.

Yes, we were accompanied by fantastic guides, often speaking French, like Gustavo in Buenos Aires, Max in Bariloche, Jenny in Perito Moreno, Diana in El Chalten, Juan and Felipe in Ushuaia, Marissa at her estancia.

Yes, we came back with stars in our eyes, completely transformed by these immensely vast landscapes, this unspoiled nature, these fabulous mountains…

Yes, we were pampered with a program of multiple activities: unusual hikes, self-drive tours, sailing among icebergs, canoeing on the lakes of Ushuaia, horseback riding like in the most beautiful westerns…

Thank you, thank you, to Boris, but also to the tireless Mariana who takes care of the day-to-day details, who keeps us in close touch, and bounces back immediately if a change needs to be managed.

  Incredible Patagonia!

Hola Boris!

Thank you for organizing an incredible trip for our family!

Every one of the guides were wonderful and so knowledgeable. All of our transports were seamless and we knew we were going to be met with friendly faces wherever we went.

Our excursions were so authentic and not just typical tourist activities. The hiking in the mountains, the boat ride on the lakes, the visit to the glaciers and horseback riding was all so much fun, it is to hard to say which one was our favorite.

The landscapes were so beautiful and, at times, it felt as though we were the only people on earth. The asado that was prepared for us on the ranch was truly so memorable. We can’t wait to come back and see more of your beautiful country!

Thanks – Debra, Cindy and Families

  Travel to Peru, Bolivia, Chile

Dear Boris,

We wanted you to plan our trip to “Peru, Bolivia, and Chile” just as you planned our trip to Argentina. We had an extraordinary four weeks. Everything was perfect, from the choice of itineraries and hotels to the guides and drivers, all of whom were excellent, friendly, professional, and attentive to our every need.

Our trip to Peru:

Lima, not very interesting but a must-see; Arequipa, very nice; Colca Canyon, wow; Taking a “hot” bath in Aguas Calientes; And finally Machu Picchu, it was wonderful to be there and in the sun. A big thank you to Félix, our guide, and Freddy, our driver. Then Cuzco, Puno, and Lake Titicaca; Visit to Taquile Island, very pretty. We were lucky enough to spend a night on the Uros Islands, it was magical, a small islet far from the boats where our hosts Muriel and (Gabriel?) kindly welcomed us, fishing and sunset in a typical island boat. Our spacious room was very clean and even had hot water for the shower. A bed was also set up outside to appreciate the beauty and calm of the place. Highly recommended!!!

Bolivian border:

Oh, that was something to cross the border “a bridge” on foot with the suitcases. We felt like we were in a movie, it set the tone for what followed, and what a sequel… Of the three countries visited, this is the one we preferred. Fantastic, magnificent landscapes, very kind and authentic people, very few tourists; La Paz is immense but has a lot of charm, very different neighborhoods that are visited by cable cars. And finally, my husband’s dream came true – The Salar de Uyuni, being at the top of the islet with its giant cacti surrounded by a sea of salt as far as the eye can see. It must be said that since our crossing the border, we had Alexandre as our guide and German as our driver, whom we embrace affectionately. They made our trip to Bolivia a perfect success. We were treated to a “luxury picnic” on the salar, incredible and so unusual. While everyone stopped at the island and turned around because it had rained, German took us across. We were even lucky enough to see the mirror reflection, what a sight!!!

Then we head towards landscapes, each more beautiful than the last: multi-colored lagoons, guanacos, flamingos, rabbits with flat tails and ultra-long whiskers, foxes… Then the Sol De Mañana plateau with geysers and hot water baths. Here again, unusual moments that allowed us to bathe at almost 5,000 m altitude, incredible!!!

So, we say goodbye to our friends Alexandre and German to move on to Chile:

San Pedro de Atacama, dusty but absolutely fantastic. Sophie guided us for a few days in this incredible desert. Magnificent landscapes, different from those we think of when we talk about desert. The Salar de Atacama, certainly not as grandiose as that of Uyuni, but worth the detour. The site of Piedras Rojas, exceptional, the contrast with the green water lagoon is a must-see. The Rainbow Valley, which deserves its name, absolutely splendid. We participated in a stargazing, for me seeing Saturn was an exceptional moment, it must be said that the team had a suitable telescope. Santiago de Chile, some nice neighborhoods. Last days in Valparaiso, thanks to Vincent for his visit and many tips. Pretty port city, full of color, which can be visited in some neighborhoods by cable car. We also took the local bus “to laugh” the excitement of the city has a certain impact on the drivers, a must-do.

So, that’s the end of our wonderful trip. Thank you, Boris, for your professionalism, your perfection, and your kindness. You were attentive to our needs and checked in on us regularly. Everything was perfect, from the choice of tours, guides, and hotels.

Thank you so much and don’t change anything.

Yours,
Michèle and Michel

About a thousand photos to sort, mostly PUMAS! This safari was awesome and way beyond our expectations, because we didn’t think we’d get so close to the felines; Roberto is perfecto!!!

We are not going to list all the stages of the journey because in any case there were no false notes to report!

Below are some photos that we like and our smiles show our joy and pleasure in the moments experienced.

Travel to Argentina from north to south

Looking back on a wonderful 22-day trip from north to south of Argentina.

We arrived in Buenos Aires and began our journey by visiting this very pleasant city, which we would have liked to discover even more, but a great program awaited us over 3 weeks!

The first part of our stay took us to the northwest, in the Salta “la Linda” region. It was a discovery and a total amazement as this region is captivating, the people extremely kind. The immensity of the scenery leaves you speechless. We loved this week on a road trip in the heart of Quebradas with its grandiose and varied landscapes and exceptional sites such as Salinas Grandes, Hornocal, Tilcara, Cafayate, Cachi and so many others…

We then had the pleasure of visiting the Iguaçu Falls. A sublime spectacle and exceptional views of these majestic waterfalls.

For the second part of the trip, we headed to Patagonia, with a visit to the Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers by boat and a stay in an estancia. Here again, we felt completely reconnected with nature and had wonderful horseback rides along the banks of Lago Argentino.

The next destination: El Chaltén and Mount Fitz Roy, which offered us sublime hiking trails in an environment that is still extremely well preserved, as well as a rough but sublime navigation on the desert lake!

Finally, change of destination for our final stage, with a visit to the Tigre Delta region and its secret canals.

We really appreciated the organization and the discreet but always responsive support of the team. Thanks to Mariana and our guides and drivers. Thanks to Boris for putting together this fabulous stay for us and keeping “the cherry on the cake”, my desire to go as close as possible to Perito Moreno, until the end of our adventure!

Thanks to my darling for making my lifelong dream come true by organizing this unforgettable trip!

We immediately felt at ease and serene, immersed in this magnificent country, where the welcome is warm and the food and wine excellent. We can’t wait to return because it has entered our hearts and still has many magnificent regions to visit… You always have to have dreams to hope to come true one day 😉

The transfers are perfectly organized, the hotels very good. Thanks to all the guides, Maximum, Julien, Marie-Sophie, Gustavo, especially a big thank you to Michael, thanks to Marisa and her husband the rubber, for our horse ride.   Travel to Patagonia

Sixteen days in Patagonia: Buenos Aires, Bariloche, El Calafate, El Chalten, Torres del Paine Park.

A trip decided a few weeks before, a vague idea of an idyllic and fantasized destination, a few words about our desires (discovery, freedom, wide open spaces, nature) and Boris with his acolytes responded beyond our expectations.

Sixteen rich and intense days, during which we were able to observe and understand what constitutes the Patagonian myth, obviously discovering its panorama and its landscapes, but also its people, its culture, in short its singularity in today’s world.

From Buenos Aires, we caught a glimpse of the vitality, enthusiasm, excitement and wealth of this capital.

And then we quickly escaped into the Patagonian spectacle in Bariloche, with multiple activities that suited us (trekking, rafting, discovery of an estancia and its gauchos, …) with guides, or rather women and men, who made us appreciate their daily life, enter into their culture and love their country.

We then flew to El Calafate, for a second week of freedom, marveling at the glaciers, the mountains, the valleys, the nature, driving on the endless roads of Patagonia, walking to reach the hidden wonders of El Chalten and Torres del Paine Park! It’s hard to put these days into words, and it was so hard to go home!

No false notes for this vacation off the tourist circuit as we like them. The accommodations, the recommendations, the journeys, everything was perfect for us and made us feel like we were Boris’s only customers! A special thank you to Mariana who followed us from the first to the last day and answered our questions, even the most trivial, with appreciable responsiveness.

This stay obviously calls for others and all Boris’s mischief is there: making us want to come back to discover other places, other landscapes, other cultures, and above all, letting him organize all of this for us with a master’s hand!

So see you soon!

Dream trip between Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego

This year we made a dream come true… I had planned this trip 10 years ago and it finally couldn’t take place. So after this long wait, what a pleasure to finally be able to go to Patagonia!

First day in Buenos Aires with Gilda who showed us all the legendary neighborhoods of the capital. Then, we flew to Bariloche for a busy week. Maximo showed us his region and its breathtaking landscapes. He drove us along Route 40, took us through the enchanted valley and introduced us to mate tasting. We were able to sail on Lake Nahuel Huapi, discover the incredible Arrayanes forest and stop on Victoria Island for a walk among the sequoias and eucalyptus trees. We also had the chance to spend a magical moment in Marisa and Pablo’s estancia lost in the middle of the mountains. Bariloche is without a doubt an exceptional place where nature is incredible, dominant and majestic!

After a few days, change of scenery with the discovery of the El Calafate region and Lake Argentino. Meeting with Eduardo to discover the Los Glaciares National Park and the Perito Moreno Glacier, then navigation among the glaciers and icebergs on Lake Argentino. We felt very small in front of the immensity and beauty of these glaciers! Then direction EL Chalten for a trek to the Fitz Roy and the Laguna de Los Très. And what can I say except that the Fitz Roy is worth it!

We ended our trip in Ushuaia. We hear so much about it in France that we couldn’t have gone there without stopping there. Sailing on the Beagle Channel where we were able to observe sea lions, cormorants and where we had the incredible chance to come across orcas! Visit of the Harberton estancia and walk on Martillo Island among the penguins. Finally, discovery of the Tierra del Fuego National Park with our guide Gabriel: on the program, a walk and outing in duckies.

And of course, to satisfy Monsieur, a few days of fishing interspersed in the middle of the program, including one with Boris. And there, judging by my fiance’s delighted face and the quantity of fish he was able to catch, it would seem that this is a paradise for a fisherman!

I almost forgot: to end the stay… a marriage proposal at the end of the world!

In summary: an incredible stay, very organized by Boris and his fairy godmother Mariana. Guides all nicer and more interesting than the others. Very pleasant hotels, top restaurant recommendations. Everything was absolutely perfect!

Boris, I hope you are ready to organize our honeymoon 😊

Travel to Patagonia, Antarctica cruise and Cape Horn

Wedding anniversary: Latin America (Argentina; Antarctica; Chile). We decided to mark our 25th wedding anniversary with two cruises, one to Antarctica and the second to the Patagonian Channels.

We took the opportunity to travel through Argentine and Chilean Patagonia. This 6-week trip (from 01/26/24 to 03/08/24), from Buenos Aires to Santiago de Chile, will remain etched in our memories as it was so intense.

We provided Boris with the project for this trip which managed to surprise us at every stage, both by the impeccable organization with appointments always honored on time, and flawless reservations, and by the relevance of the excursions offered:

  • Tango Night in Buenos Aires
  • The sea lions and elephant seals at Punta Cantor, and the thousands of Magellanic penguins from Punta Tombo to Puerto Madryn
  • Horseback riding in a hacienda, and Boris’ surprise day in Bariloche
  • The Perito Moreno and Spegazzini glaciers in El Calafate
  • Helicopter flight over the surroundings of Ushuaia
  • Antarctica, from where one does not return quite the same
  • Cape Horn and the glaciers, each more majestic than the last, of the Patagonian channels
  • The towers and horns of Torres del Paine Park
  • The authenticity of Chiloé Island
  • Frutillas in Puerto Varas
  • Colorful houses in this street art city of Valparaiso

We’ll keep from these six weeks an unforgettable memory of the landscapes as well as the people, the guides, and of course Mariana and Boris. We only have one desire: to go back there with Borispatagonia.
