In Chile and Argentina, and principally in Patagonia, you can visit places with an incredible variety of wildlife. I can suggest a made to measure trip with the central theme being to observe the natural wildlife. Condors, lamas, whales, elephant seals, sea lions, penguins and killer whales are a few examples of what you can expect to see. There will be no shortage of interesting places or unusual encounters.

Here you can find further information through an example.

Bariloche - Tronador

| Starting point "Refuge Meiling"

| Duration : 1 day.

| Starting from Meiling Hut, after a 4 hour high mountain walk, you'll reach the "Punta de los condores" (Condor peak), where for sure you're likely to watch condors. That's a 8 hour return walk. Not to be missed ! There are many other opportunities to watch condors : in the steppe, close to the tops, or in some mountain passes... etc... All these spots are quite hard to reach, but that's worth it ! Another sight beyond description is to watch condors gliding while you're standing higher than them. Of course Borispatagonia cannot diclose the names of these spots. It's an exclusive service offered to its customers. Please enquire !

| "Valdes Peninsula" is the place in the Southern Hemisphere where marine fauna can be found in greatest numbers. According to the period, you're likely to watch the great whale show (from June to december), orcas (February & March are the more favourable months), lion and elephant seals, (all year long) penguins (from September to the end of March), dolphins (from Decmber to March). An unforgettable sight, not to be missed. The best period seems to be from August to September, when you'll have the opportunity to watch all these species in great numbers. This sightseeing trip can also be undertaken on a private basis. Just enquire !

| Punta Tumbo is the terrestrial place on the Southern hemisphere where can be encountered the greatest concentration of penguins. The spot is 112 mile distant from Puerto Madryn. Here live the Magellan penguins. It's a grandiose sight where you can watch thousands of penguins as far as the eye can see. But it's also quite possible to get closer to them. You can walk amidst 1 million penguins ranked together (yes there's no mistake, one million !). A unique and unforgettable sight ! You can choose as well to watch the dolphins from a boat, from Puerto Rawson. You can even undertake this excursion on a private basis. Just enquire !

| The whale show. This sight is undoubtedly one of the most wonderful and stupefying shows that can be watched in the whole of Patagonia, and no doubt in the whole of Argentina. From early June to half December, the big Southern right whales do come in the Peninsula waters to procreate. You'll take the opportunity to behold them, and witness such a unique moment, either from the deck of a boat sailing from Puerto Piramides, or from a beach, but only at high tide. There, facing such colossal mammals you'll feel as if living in a different, timeless world. There is also a possibility to watch the whales from a plane. An exclusive treat offered by Borispatagonia !

Bariloche
Limay River / Villa Llanquin

| Starting point "Bariloche"

| Duration : half day.

| Activity with guide.

| Twelve miles distant from Bariloche, before reaching the southern lake district capital, there you'll discover "Rio Limay" and the "Valle Encantade" (the enchanted valley...). You can cross the Rio Limay and have a very pleasant walk along the river. Then you'll be acquainted with the typical life of a family whose business is dedicated to trout breeding. You'll be allowed to watch the trouts, and you'll even have the opportunity to purchase a few, for your next meal. Fishing is also possible on an island just facing that place.

Puerto Madryn - Península Valdes

| Starting point "Puerto Madryn"

| Duration : 1 day.

| Activity with guide.

| The Valdes Peninsula is the spot in the Southern Hemisphere where can be found the most important concentration of marine fauna. It's a one million acre territory, where only a few estancias can be encountered. And nothing else... Only the horizon as far as the eye can see, and plenty of wind ! Orca seals undoubtedly share the same star status as the whales in the Penisula. February and maybe even more March are the most favourable periods to watch them around "Punta Norte". This is a grandiose sight : orcas do come up to the beach to try and eat baby sea dogs just attempting their first swimming outing. Orcas are quite ready to put their own lives at stake to reach their preys, even at the risk of running aground (and dying)...

Southern Landscape - Patagonia

| Duration : 1 day or more.

| Activity with guide.

| In Patagonia, guanacos can be watched in numerous places. These non domestic animals look like llamas, although slightly smaller in size. They can be encountered maily in the quite arid steppe areas. As they belong to a protected species, they aren't too meek, and you can get close to them quite easily. Sometimes, you may come across big guanaco herds. These animals live in great number in various sites such as are : the Valdes Peninsula, Route 40 South of Esquel, and the Torres National park in Chile...

Corrientes - The Ibera Lakes rank

| Duration : 1 day or more.

| Activity with guide.

| The Ibera Lakes rank as the second humid zone in the Continent. Only is it superseded as regards its area by the Brazilian Pantanal. Named Ibera microsystem, it is a quite complex hydrographic system, in which an extremely rich and diversified tropical ecosystem is currently thriving. Thanks to its geographical situation, and its limited access, it shelters quite a rich and diversified fauna, including various endangered species, which have found there one of their last remaining habitat. Among them let's quote the "pond stag", the "pampa stag", the "howling monkey, the "maned wolf, the overo and black caymans (1), not to mention an estremely wide range of birds. Turtles and Lizards can be encountered in numbers. With the addition of the overa iguana, they take their part in the general panorama. On Borispatagonia's behalf, I can organize a dream visit in that special place.

Puerto Madryn
Puerto Lobos and Punta Ninfas

| Duration 1 day.

| Visit to Puerto Lobos or Punta Ninfas, depending on the state of the access road. These two places are out of the regular circuits. Approximately a hundred kilometers from Puerto Madryn, but in opposite directions, in Puerto Lobos you can watch abundant fauna in a wild context. In Punta Ninfas, you will be in the entrance of the New Gulf on the top of a cliff where you might see whales (form June to December). But the most interesting thing is that you will be able to descend to the beach by a little hard access, and walk between sea elephants. It will be an interesting day for the ones who have got time and can stay a third day in the region.

Parc national
Francisco Coloane - (Chile)

| Duration 1 day or more.

| In the Strait of Magellan, located at the southern tip of Americas, only seven years ago, a group of scientists discovered a site where feeding humpback whales return every summer, motivating them to start a business of ecotourism and research. This is the first zone established as marine protected area and marine park in the country. The Marine Park Francisco Coloane, located southeast of the island Carlos III, is an extension of sea and land within the 67,000 acres that make up the coastal areas Marine Protected Francisco Coloane, in the Strait of Magellan, in Region XII of Chile. The main attractions are: Jerome Channel, Step tortuous, Islote Ruppert, Barbara Channel, Cordes Bays and Fortescue, Seno Whale and the Isle St. Agnes with its glacier. The entire protected area has a vast biodiversity and landscape, as well as a geographic and oceanographic only partly due to a combination of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, its high winds, the presence of massive glaciers and Dismembered Costa. One of the main motivations for the creation of the park, which includes a biological corridor, habitat of the humpback whale (and occasionally sei whales) in their feeding season. The area also includes large colonies of two species of sea lions and important nesting sites of the Magellanic penguin.

Borispatagonia

Patagonia in all seasons menu. For example, according to the climate, from Bariloche, in Patagonia Argentina, it is possible to go to Puerto Montt, in Chile, crossing successively three lakes by boat, as did the Jesuits and the first German settlers. I offer a tour that leads to the Pacific Ocean. It is quite long, but the beauty of the sites - forests, volcanoes and crystalline lakes - is such that it is worth to be carried. The Argentine side, cross the west arm of Nahuel Huapi and Lake Puerto Alegre and, the chilen side, Lake Todos los Santos. Moving from one lake to another by bus. This tour is feasible in all seasons, but in winter, it takes two days to reach Puerto Montt, stopping for one night at Peulla. We returned to Bariloche by air or by the same way, after a night in Puerto Montt. Borispatagonia is also responsible for visas to go to Chile and to book hotels. In Patagonia, winter and summer are tourist seasons. In summer, besides explore the surrounding, many activities are available: climbing, torrent fishing, sailing, horseback riding, hiking, rides, visits to Aciendas... In winter, the main activity is, of course, skiing, especially in July and August on the side of the Andes, but not only: snowshoe hikes, thematic tours, many walks to admire the beauty of Patagonia Argentina and Chile in this season, due a unique light, the warmth of the people of Patagonia... Just to talk about, I get goose bumps!
