Excursions
I propose hundreds of excursions in Chile and Argentina and it would be impossible to name them all. For the majority of them it is necessary to travel in vehicles down marked tracks where we stop in order to get close to the villages and other places of interest.
Here I propose some examples of possible excursions, though there are many others available.
To find a program to fit you, please send me an email through the link on the contact page.

| Talampaya - National Park | ||||
![]() |
| Starting point "Villa Unión ou San Juan". | One day trip, with transfer included. On the following day, an optional visit of the "Moon Valley" can be scheduled... | The landscape structure here is considered to be the outcome of various tectonic mouvements, which originated the upheaval of huge rocky blocks. For thousands of years, these blocks have suffered erosion from furious wind (in Spring) and heavy rains (in Summer), with the addition of typical desertic zone thermic ranges, resulting from the contrast between night and day temperatures. The park average altitude is 1 500 yards. The climate is continental. The site has been included in UNESCO World heritage List since the year 2000. |

| Valparaiso - (Chile) | ||||
![]() |
| Santiago" and the most important Chilean port. Its special and picturesque feature are its funicular railways that climb the hills surrounding the port, dotted with tall, colorful dwellings that command a view of the pretty harbor. A city laid bare. Our eyes are glued on this culturally and economically influential metropolis located 115 kilometers northwest of Santiago, Chile's capital city; a metropolis that - as travelers recommend - should be explored starting at Muelle Prat (Prat Wharf), where vessels of all sizes and from all the countries in the world dock. The tour should continue through Sotomayor Square and its monument to the heroes of Iquique, one of the Pacific War's naval engagements. The rosary of attractions seems endless. Here one finds the National Congress -it used to function in Santiago- and the Victoria, Sotomayor and Anibal Pinto squares, the Natural History Museum, the Naval Museum, the Cathedral and the Paseo Muelle Baron. However, Valparaiso is not only a city - it is also a region with seven provinces (including the Juan Fernandez archipelago and Easter Island itself) and 38 municipalities that offer a series of adventure sports such as mountain climbing, skiing, hunting and nautical sports, among others. Everything and things for every taste, in a port city that is nostalgically bohemian, where even the breakers seem to recite verses and the wind whispers ancient tales, while the funicular railways ply up and down the teeming hills and someone -maybe yourself- raptly gazes at the unending beauty of the Pacific Ocean. |

| Misiones - Iguazu Falls | ||||
![]() |
| Starting point "Puerto Iguazu". | Duration between 1 day and more. | Activity with guide. | On each side of the border, the Falls belong to a natural reserve: The national park of Iguazú (Argentina) and the national park of Iguaçu (Brazil). These parks were added to the list of the world inheritance by UNESCO in 1984 and 1986, respectively. The falls are located in majority on the Argentinean side, but the sight is more spectacular Brazilian side. In Argentina, several circuits of visits were arranged in the forest and to the top of the various river branches, via various footbridges. It is possible to approach a few meters only to the falls. A train leads to the various starting points of the visits, of which the most impressive cascade, Garganta Del Diablo (700 m of length and 150 m broad). |

| Misiones - Mocona falls | ||||
![]() |
| Starting point Iguazu. | Duration 1 day. | The Moconá Falls, which means "that swallows everything" in the guaraní language, is one of the wonder of the province of Misiones, a geological fault where the rivers Uruguay, Yabotí, Pepirí Guazú, Serapio and Calixto meet, forming a three kilometer long canyon with falls of water parallel to its bank, different from a regular waterfall, which falls transversally, being up to 20 meters high, and 120 meters deep. The area is considered a Provincial Park, and it includes the Yabotí biosphere. It is located 340 km. away from Posadas, and 320 km. away from Iguazú. Unlike to what usually happens when the bends in the water meet the natural obstacles that they must cross, they erode them and form perpendicular falls to their courses; in this case the river runs parallel over the plateau of the hill all throughout the course and falls by the side |

| La Serena (Chile) | ||||
![]() |
| Start point: Serena. | Duration 1 day. | There's more to La Serena, the Serene One, than sun, beaches and white sand. There's more to recommend the area than a pleasant year-round climate, pure air, great scenery and superb seafood. La Serena is Chile's second oldest city. Pedro de Valivia founded Santiago in 1541, and thereafter went on to order the founding La Serena in 1543/4 as the sea link between Santiago and Lima. It was fortified against pirates in the 1700s's and enjoyed an economic boom in the 1920's.During the presidency of Gabriel González Videla, a native of La Serena, the city benefited from the La Serena Plan, an urban renewal project which developed the prevalent architectural style called Colonial Renaissance. Much of the colonial architecture is found around the Plaza de Armas. The capital of the second region in Chile's Norte Chico, La Serena is well known for its beaches.A visitor can enjoy a two-week vacation and visit a different beach every day, although some are less suited for swimming due to strong currents. |

The Island of Chiloé (Chiloé Island), of 111 miles long and 31 miles wide (the biggest of the country), borders the Piuchén mountain range on the West, and is covered by big masses of deposits of Quaternary glaciers, standing out the Captain Maldonado Hill (2,690 feet). Separated from the continent by the Chacao channel, The Island of Chiloé (Chiloé Island) has about 1.2 miles of width and its population is concentrated in the cities of Ancud and Castro. |
